From an early age, Loëlle was fascinated by stories of the supernatural. In Suriname, such stories are deeply rooted in everyday life and are often passed down by elders who firmly believe in unseen forces and spiritual presences. These stories frequently come with warnings about what one should or should not do, and those who ignore them are said to face the consequences.
 

Sranan Folktales is a horror web series inspired by Surinamese traditional beliefs and superstitions. Drawing from folklore, oral storytelling, and cultural memory, the series explores the darker mysteries of life through short films that are both frightening and magical. These stories form the core inspiration of the series, blending fear, wonder, and cultural heritage.
